2013 ACTIVITIES
CHILDREN’S DAY
DATE: Thursday, 28 November 2013
VENUE: Shinta Mani Siem Reap
One of the highlights of the Angkor Photo Festival is ‘Children’s Day’, a day dedicated to both the young and the young at heart! A fun-filled day for the children of Anjali House, Children’s Day features exciting performances and a special edition of the festival’s evening slideshows projections curated especially for this day.
On this day, we also share the results of the Anjali Photo Workshops! Featuring over a hundred photos by the kids of Anjali House during the annual creative workshops, this is not an event to be missed.
In 2013, we’re pleased to announce we’ll be having a special performance by the popular and well-known Phare Cambodian Circus!
BLOWUP ANGKOR IV
DATES: 23 – 30 November 2013
A new initiative that began in 2010, BlowUp Angkor is a series of free and open street exhibitions shown in public spaces across Siem Reap. Founded and organized by Blindboys.org, Blowup Angkor IV will be supported in 2013 by Siem Reap’s own NGOInsider!
The initiative aims to infuse photography with the everyday lives of the community, and to reach out to new audiences. It features voluntary contributions from photography collectives as well as independent photographers. Be sure to look out for the various street exhibitions across town, as well as the mobile projections that will be screened in various public places. In the evenings, after the festival’s slideshow programme, there will also be special night sessions featuring presentations and talks by various photographs.
