For the first time, the international Kassel Dummy Award will make its way to Cambodia as part of its international exhibition tour! Visitors to our 16th Edition will be able to browse the 47 shortlisted photobooks in Siem Reap from 23 – 27 November, after which it will be displayed in Phnom Penh.
In total, 395 photobooks from 44 countries were sent in to the 2020 Kassel Dummy Award, which is presented by the Fotobookfestival Kassel for the best unpublished photo book mock-up of the year. Started in 2010, the event shortlists its top entries and three winners are chosen by an international jury, with the eventual first prize winner receiving a complete photo book production to emerging talents.
The Fotobookfestival Kassel is a non-profit foundation that has been engaged with the artistic medium of the photobook and has presented it in all its facets, since 2008, in a festival program of international standing. The annual festival shows works by renowned artists and promotes established and emerging talents, publishers, designers, printers, curators and booksellers on an international platform.
