The 9th Edition of the Angkor Photo Festival Starts on November 23. Here you can find out who are the selected photographers & their work to be shown at this year’s festival. Curated by Françoise Callier, the Program Coordinator of the Angkor Photo Festival, our 2013 programme will feature work from over 130 photographers. We received over 1,000 submissions from 75 different countries this year alone.

 

2013 Guest Curators 

Each year, the festival dedicates to evening of it’s slideshow programme to two well know figures in photography. The Guest Curators present a showcase of work and photographers they have selected themselves. This year we have the please of welcoming Shahidul Alam & Jean-Françoise Leroy.

 

9th Angkor Photo Workshops

The Angkor Photo Workshops provides high quality professional training to young Asian photographers. The workshops have been completely free-of-charge, to ensure it remains affordable & accessible for all. 

All participants are selected based on the merit of the photography portfolio, and the workshops are conducted by renowned international photographers who volunteer their time and expertise.

For this year’s Festival we are honored to have the following tutors, Andrea Star Reese, Antoine D’Agata/Magnum Photos, Kosuke Okahara, Patrick De Noirmont/News-Pictures.com, Sohrab Hura, & Suthep Kritsanavarin

 

9th Anjali Children’s Workshop

Initiated in 2005 by Magnum photographer Antoine d’Agata, the Anjali Photo Workshops is a 10-day workshops designed to involve the kids of Anjali House in creative expression.

Through photography, the workshops aim to encourage & nurture the children’s creativity – an important part of education and a key tool in fostering self-confidence, social interaction, educational development.

Involving around 50 children from Anali House, the workshops are led by young volunteer photographers from the region. The children are taken on various trips to fun places in Siem Reap, where they receive practical photography techniques.

This years tutors are, Sohrab Hura (Coordinator), Anshika Varma, Aujin Rew, Kapil Das, Kim Hak, Paolo Patrizi, Rahman Roslan, Sean Lee, Sheila Zhao, & Tanzim Ibne Wahab.

 


2013 Festival & Workshop Center

Loft

We have a brand new home! In 2013, the Festival and Workshop Center will be under one roof. We are proud to be hosted by The LoftLocated in the heart of Siem Reap’s Old Market district. The spacious restaurant will become the hub of all festival, workshop activities, and events.

Daily Afternoon Sessions: Free Portfolio Reviews, Artist Sharing Sessions, Photo Talks & Seminars, Photo book Signings & More!
All activities at the Festival Center are free-of-charge and open to all.
