Children’s Day is one of the most fun parts of the Photo Festival, and this evening our Festival Zone will turn into one big party with bursts of creativity, laughter and excitement.
It’s the culmination of the annual Anjali Photo Workshops, organised for the children and youths of Anjali House – and they’re celebrating. Under the guidance of nine volunteer photography tutors, they’ve been photographing all kinds of subjects – their families, friends, the environment, and anything else that catches their interest. The afternoon of wellness-focussed fun and activities is in collaboration with the First Kindness Festival Cambodia, which is taking place in Siem Reap this week.
The event would not be possible without our amazing team of Anjali tutors, all of whom are volunteers and committed to nurturing the children’s innate creativity. A huge thanks to coordinator Paolo Patrizi and the tutors, Anshika Vrama, Andrea Fernandes, Sopheak Vong, Sayon Soun, Aujin Rew, Soheila Sanamno, Tanvi Mishra and Katrin Koenning.
Let’s party!
After such a busy week, the children are set to party. And there’s heaps set up to entertain them. We’ve got the Strike a Pose photo corner – a photo booth for them to create some fun memories. There is also a writer’s workshop to stimulate a different kind of creativity; face painting; balloons and the Zen Den – a yoga session to stretch and unwind and a big dance session to get the body moving.
Children’s Day projection evening
Children’s Day culminates with a special ‘Kids’ Edition’ of our festival projections programme curated by programme coordinator Françoise Callier and, of course, the highly-anticipated results of the Anjali Photo Workshops. It will be a wonderful curated showcase of the images the children have taken during workshops, and it’s always an uplifting evening where we witness Siem Reap and its surrounds through the eyes of the children.
