Thanks to everyone who came yesterday to the Opening Night of the 10th Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops!
The event kicked off with the riverside opening reception of Lâm Duc Hiên‘s “The Mekong: Stories of Man”, graced by the Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, His Excellency Bun Tharith, and Mr. So Platong, Chair of Siem Reap City.
Following by a wonderful dinner buffet by the FCC Angkor, we launched our first projection evening curated by Programme Director Françoise Callier, showcasing the works of 22 photographers all over the world.
In her openig speech, Françoise emphasised the festival’s role in bridging the divide between continents by providing exposure, education and support to emerging talent in Asia.
“We are like a big family, accessible to all, and it is extremely important we remain so. We are not a very big festival, but we are today an important resource for the discovery of new and unsung talent in Asia,” she said.
