Serie from an unknown photographer living in Saint-Louis, Senegal. Photographs taken in ca.1930
A collector of Saint-Louis had kept about 20 negatives 9×13 cm on gelatin, photographs taken in essentially the same family. A calendar on the wall shows one print used to date the whole Sunday, January 8, 1915 or 1930. One notes the space taken by photography at that time, the walls of the girl’s room was covered with a multitude of framed photographs. Other shots showed her near a car, subject to satisfaction, a young boy wearing amulets, sign of circumcision, a group posing in the street, or also Saint-Louis during an official parade.
