Greenpeace at the Angkor Photo Workshops

Jun 27, 2012 | 8th Edition (2012), News & Happenings, Workshops 2012

I’ve been waiting for some time now to announce this… some folks from Greenpeace will be joining us at the 8th Angkor Photo Workshops this year!

Greenpeace International‘s John Novis (Head of Photography) and Sudhanshu Malhotra (Photo Editor, India) will be coming over to Siem Reap to join our team of tutors for the 8th Angkor Photo Workshops.

The two of them will be heading one of the four workshop groups with a special emphasis on – yes, you guessed it – the Environment.

Just as it is with all the groups in the Angkor Photo Workshops, participants are free to choose their own topics. Throughout the week-long workshop, the tutors will arrange discussion and meeting sessions with their groups, follow the development and progress of each story, and help guide the participants in stretching their creativity and working on originality in style.

Photography has played a major role in Greenpeace since formation of the international environmental NGO in 1971. We met up with John a few weeks ago when he was in Siem Reap, and he told us he hoped “the workshop will provide young photographers with an invaluable insight into the visual needs of NGO’s and type of imagery required for assignment.”

In the weeks to come, we’ll be sharing more information about the other six tutors who will be with us at the Angkor Photo Workshops this year.

Meanwhile, we are still open for applications for another two weeks. Get your application in before July 15th! Click to find out how. (How to Apply)
