A new record!

Jun 1, 2012 | 8th Edition (2012), News & Happenings

Although we believe in quality over quantity, we have to admit we are really happy to have received a record number of submissions this year!

And so, submissions for the 8th Angkor Photo Festival is now officially closed — a big THANK YOU to everyone who sent their work in this year. With over 1,200 submissions from over 65 countries (I’m rounding down the figures just to make it neater), the next two months are going to be rather intensive. If you sent your work in, you’ll be receiving a response from us by the end of July 2012.

We had a nice little meeting with John Novis this morning, who came over to Siem Reap for a couple of days. John is the Head of Photography at Greenpeace International, and he was also on the jury panel for the Reminders Project Asian Photographers Grant last year. What were we meeting him about? Well, you’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!

PS: We are still accepting applications for the 8th Angkor Photo Workshops! I know there has been some confusion regarding the two different deadlines for the festival and the workshop — don’t worry if you were planning to apply for the workshops, the deadline is on July 15th.
