CAMERA DONATION DRIVE

Cameras for the Anjali Photo Workshops

CAMERA DONATION DRIVE
for Anjali Kids!

Have a camera sitting unused and unloved in your drawer?

Let the kids of Anjali House give it new life!

Since 2005, we organise the annual Anjali Photo Workshops for students of Anjali House here in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The workshops are a fun-filled event led by volunteer photographers, aimed at nurturing the children’s innate creativity.

On hold since the start of the pandemic, we’re ecstatic to be restarting the workshops at our 20th Edition next year!

Sadly, many of the donated cameras we received over the years are no longer in working condition, and we need your help!

We are seeking pre-loved cameras for this year’s workshops and beyond! Not only will more cameras allow more children to join the workshops, it also means we can expand our year-round photography activities with Anjali House.

In fact, all the images you see on this page were created by Anjali kids during our photo classes in 2024!

 What We Need

Any pre-loved camera in working condition will do! We use both compact cameras and DSLRs. Please make sure that the camera is still usable, with a working battery and a charger. SD cards would be awesome, but it is ok if not available.

How To Donate

Fill in the form – we will contact you and let you know where your nearest drop-off point is.

The cameras will then be collected and brought to Siem Reap in time for the workshops next year.

Likewise, reach out to us if you’re planning a trip to Cambodia and have some space for a camera (or two) in your luggage.

We made our graphics from images taken during this year’s photo classes with Anjali House – check out the students’ original images!

About the Anjali Photo Workshops

The Anjali Photo Workshops began in 2005 as an informal photography workshop by photographer Antoine D’Agata for a group of street children in Siem Reap. Buoyed by the positive response and the impact it had, the workshops became an annual event, and led to the creation of the now independent NGO Anjali House in 2007.

The aim of the Anjali Photo Workshops is to nurture the children’s innate creativity through open-ended photography workshops guided by volunteer photographers. The workshops are conducted in a fun, open-ended format that emphasises individual freedom of expression, consisting of a series of outdoor photography excursions and group discussions.

In addition to learning to value their own unique vision, the workshops also teaches the children to respect the expressions of others. Not only does this expand their ability to interact with their peers and the world around them, it also bolsters their sense of self-confidence and awareness of their environment and surroundings.
