Baterna-Patena has witnessed a rapidly increasing number of tourists from mainland China going to Hong Kong to shop, sightsee and to take selfies. Hundreds of buses arrive every day and thousands of visitors spill out, using their short stopover to walk around and view the nearby waterfront. Not many of them take notice of the Golden Bauhinia Square, but all of them take selfies.
