APWS Spotlight on Invisible Photographer Asia

Jun 16, 2011 | 7th Edition (2011), Angkor Photo Workshops, News & Happenings

Today we launched the first in a new series: APWS Spotlight on Invisible Photographer Asia.

We started APWS Spotlight to have a platform for previous participants of the workshop, to find out what they have been up to since the workshops, and also to highlight the work they are producing now.

In the first of this series, we caught up with Nishant Ratnakar, who was with us at the 2008 Angkor Photo Workshops, to talk about his ongoing project Fistful of Dreams. By following the lives of five-year-old Palguni and her family, he highlights the issue of gender and racial discrimination in India.

Also, Karan Vaid, Karolus Naga and Rony Zakaria are in the Top 20 finalists of the IPA Street Photography Contest!

We’re also happy to note that a few previous participants already had their work shown on IPA! In case you haven’t been keeping track, take a look at these stories on the IPA site by our APWS participants:

Stay tuned folks!
