This December, the annual Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops returns for the 14th year in Siem Reap to show the work of over 100 photographers from 40 countries! Whether you are a photographer or a lover of photography, all events are free and open to everyone to attend.
Southeast Asia’s longest-running international photography event, the Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops is unique in its mission to support and reveal Asian photographic talents, and is now the annual meeting point for visual storytellers in the region.
The event kicks off with our professional week on December 8th with the start of the Angkor Photo Workshops for 30 Asian photographers. For one intensive week, tutored by world-renowned professional photographers, these emerging talents will produce a photo story in Siem Reap which will be showcased on the Closing Night of the festival.
Our public programme begins from the December 14th to 18th – bring your friends to sit under the stars and enjoy the evening projections programme. Our guest curators this year have put together a special showcases: the duo of Kim Hak and Sophal Neak, well known Cambodian photographers, will be presenting a night of Cambodian photography; Wang Xi, an established curator from China, will be showcasing contemporary work by exciting Chinese talents.
With exhibitions by the Siem Reap riverside and other locations, take some time to enjoy the waterfront as you explore the different works on show. Don’t miss out on the mobile exhibitions as well, which will be travelling around Siem Reap on tuk-tuks!
During the day, there will also be daily portfolio reviews and artist talks held in the day, a great way to meet fellow professionals from around the world and to get feedback about their work from their peers and industry leaders.
All events are free and open to everyone to attend.
