Dear Angkor Alumni,
I’ve waited so long to be able to write this.
We’ll be having our 18th Edition in Siem Reap from 6 – 15 January 2023, and I hope you can come.
It would be an understatement to say that things have changed for all of us – privately, collectively, professionally – since the last time we met, and I hope that this next edition can serve as a replenishing point for you.
One of the things we want to do is to involve more of you in this next edition and all our future events. To achieve this, we are dedicating as much space as possible to you – your work, voices, and visions.
We are having an open call now for projects and ideas, and also for your help as workshop facilitators and volunteers. (Open calls close on 2nd October.)
For now, we are focused on you and thus we will not be posting this publicly, but you are very welcome to forward this to any of your peers who you think might be suitably interested in this.
As always, feel free to write to me with your questions. If you have other ideas or suggestions which do not fit into the open calls, let me know!
See you soon,
jess [@] angkor-photo.com
Did you know that nine of our invited guest curators for our past four festivals were alumni of the Angkor Photo Workshops?
If you are keen on exploring your curatorial voice or expanding your current practice, we would love to hear from you. We are open to all ideas, and also for future editions.
Express your interest in this very simple form here:
Open to all lens-based work, no restrictions on format. We would love to see what you’ve been up to.
Even though there is no strict theme for the festival, in following the spirit of the next edition, we are keen to explore food and all of its many intersections.
Send us your work in this very simple form here:
We’re seeking proposals from individuals, groups and collectives who are keen to run and host pop-up workshops during the festival. These workshops will be promoted in advance and we will help you facilitate the sign-up process.
We are open to all ideas, but we would prefer to keep the group size small.
Submit your proposal in this simple form here:
Be a part of the team for the next Angkor Photo Workshops as an alumni facilitator! You’ll be working with all tutors and participants to help ensure the workshop experience runs smoothly.
We are looking for three facilitators to join us from 6 – 15 January 2023. We will not be able to cover your travel costs, but accommodation will be provided.
If you’re interested, let us know here:
If you would like help out at the next edition, please write to us and tell us:
• Your available dates
• What you would love to do
• What you really don’t want to do
To give you some ideas, we are looking for help with documentation (video and stills), communications (text editing, design and the dreaded social media), as well as people who are excellent cat herders to help with general event organising!
Sadly, we won’t be able to cover your travel cost. We are working on providing accommodation for as many volunteers as possible.
If you’re interested, just hit reply to this email and write to Jess.
