The “Wet Dog” series is a gallery of portraits of dogs captured during an activity they hate: bath time at a grooming salon. Photographing them in this moment of extreme vulnerability allowed me to capture the incredible range of emotions they are capable of expressing. Poignant looks, anger, and judgment can be read in their eyes, and should call into question our own behaviour towards a species we have subdued. The way we treat dogs speaks volumes about the social challenges we face, as humans. The dog has becomesomewhat of a mirror of our own condition and our ultimate solitude.
