After last year’s big success, we can’t wait to return to the shady EFEO gardens! Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the busy old market area, move up-river and visit us at EFEO.  The EFEO Center in Siem Reap has been for over a century a major actor in the restoration of the Angkor monuments and the development of Khmer studies. It was in 1907 that the EFEO was charged with the inventorying and preservation of the Angkor site. A succession of distinguished EFEO archaeologists and architects were responsible for the great restoration projects of Angkor. In 1992, the Cambodian government invited the EFEO to return to its former location in Siem Reap and reopen its Center there. www.efeo.fr Read More

McDermott Gallery
McDermott Gallery

McDermott Gallery has been a highly regarded partner and valued supporter since the festival’s early days. The gallery in the old market area, once a historic shop house and located in a lively alleyway, is a firm favorite of many festival visitors and guests. We are happy to showcase two exhibition highlights at McDermott Gallery in 2013.  The Gallery first opened its doors at the FCC Angkor in 2004 and is one of the few galleries in Southeast Asia exclusively dedicated to fine art photography. The Gallery exhibits a definitive collection of photography of Angkor by John McDermott, and rotating exhibitions by Asian and international artists. In 2006, a historic shop house in the “old market” area was renovated and opened as a second gallery and in the fall of 2012, the flagship gallery at the Raffles Grand Hotel opened its doors, exhibiting "Elegy," the definitive collection of John McDermott's historic images of the temples of Angkor. www.asiaphotos.net… Read More

The 1961 describes itself as an “artist retreat and creative space” and we couldn’t agree more. Thanks to the support of Loven Ramos, the friendly Filipino owner and artist, we will happily return to The 1961 this year with two selected exhibitions.  The 1961 Hotel & Gallery is a space where one can stay and immerse into a world of artists, poets, musicians and writers. Not only do they allow guests indulge in the artists’ worlds, but also encourage them to take part in the process of the creation of the room as a living art space. Go and check them out if that sounds like you! www.the1961.com Read More

The magnificent Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor Gardens have been a popular festival location for many years. This year, the riverside gardens will home two outdoor exhibitions as well as host the auspicious Closing Night of the 9th Angkor Photo Festival. The Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor itself is not only grand by name; it once was the home of royalty. An elegant cage elevator adorns the lobby, gracefully carrying guests upwards as if it was 1932 all over again. Overhead, ceiling fans gently beat a rhythm and move the still air. From a cool uncluttered lobby, Art Deco black-and-white tiled halls lead you to rooms of perfect luxury. Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor is the ideal place to relax and revitalize beside a magnificent pool inspired by Angkorian architecture or take a short stroll along the riverside to discover the vibrant local markets. http://www.raffles.com/siem-reap/… Read More
